Peace in Stormy Weather, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, founded in 2021 with a heartfelt mission: to bring hope, comfort, and support to families in need throughout Solano County. What began as a prayer to give back to the community became a powerful vision-one rooted in compassion, service, and faith.
Since our founding, we have been dedicated to providing essential winter items to families facing hardship. We distribute winter essentials - including clothing and toiletries-with 60% of those supported being children.
At Peace in Stormy Weather, we believe that even in life's most difficult seasons, warmth, dignity, and care can make all the difference. Together, we are creating brighter, stronger communities-one family at a time.
TESTIMONY
As a child I watched my mom feed the homeless living on the streets of Texas. We did not have much, but we had a roof over our heads and clothes on our back. My mother showed us that helping others is a feeling of overwhelming joy that comes with helping those in need.
I started my nonprofit with my like-minded friends, who have a heart to serve. They are members of the Board. They are passionate about helping others and have a giving and kind heart. We work so well and know what it means to serve. We are members of the same church and the same ministry. I joined the homeless ministry in 2013 at the advice of a friend. I invited another friend to join the ministry. We volunteered to serve food and passed out clothing and toiletries. It was put on my heart to buy shoes, toiletries, beanies, gloves, blankets, umbrellas, flip flops, etc. so that our homeless guests could shop for what they wanted. We collected donated clothing, so guests could also shop for clothing. The joy on their faces were priceless, because they knew we cared about their well-being.
